Today Cultural Marxism is commonly referred to as Multiculturalism or Progressivism. It is alive, well, and flourishing throughout America thanks in many respects to major US corporations endowing foundations that provide grants to colleges and universities. Included therein are Ford, Carnegie Mellon, and Rockefeller who publicly project their philanthropy as being in the spirit of promoting diversity and tolerance. Accordingly, the foundations’ purpose relative to dispersing the grant is to focus on enhancing the societal positions of ethnic, race, and gender based groups which they do by establishing specialized study programs.
Notwithstanding the donor’s intentions, however, the net result of such study programs is to further empower these groups that consistently identify themselves as powerless, marginalized, oppressed victims of society, regardless of circumstance. In truth, however, these are radical groups whose only goal is to acquire more power to further their agendas of inverting and destroying America’s social order by any means they deem necessary.
According to the National Association of Scholars foundations consider diversity as king of American campuses. In 1990 the Ford Foundation launched a $15 million Campus Diversity Initiative that required the following study programs to be established:
- Racial, ethnic, and sex-specific programs and academic departments
- Group preferences in student admissions
- Group preferences in staff and faculty hiring
- Sensitivity training for students and staff
- Campus-wide assemblies to raise consciousness about the need for such programs
It is important to note that every study programs was relative to race, ethnicity, and gender. In reality they were nothing more than pseudo-studies totally unconcerned with and unrelated to academic disciplines typically associated with higher education. Their real purpose was to foster a prescribed far left ideology.
The Ford Foundation’s initiative of promoting group based “study” programs and sensitivity training was not unique but rather has been the norm throughout academia for quite some time.
Interestingly, the specific focus of these pseudo-study groups clearly indicates that the moral reasoning and most likely the intent behind such philanthropic endeavors is consistent with the Worldview held by today’s Cultural Marxists, a/k/a Multiculturalists or Progressives. That Worldview is group based morality: "That which is moral is what best serves the interests of oppressed or marginalized ethnic, racial, and gender groups".
More succinctly stated, the means justify the end regardless of what they are.
Within the Worldview of Cultural Marxists, morals, values, truths, standards, and human nature itself are considered to be products of different historical epochs. There are no absolute moral standards that are universally true for all human beings outside of a particular historical context; rather, morality is socially constructed. This Worldview has not changed since it was adopted, circa 1923.
The founding Cultural Marxists posited that power was vested in the privileged or dominant group to the exclusion of the subordinate marginalized or oppressed ethnic, racial, and gender groups. Catalyzing the correlation of power to the subordinate groups was key in their strategy to destroy and replace America’s culture, values, and traditions with Marxist ideology through a cultural revolution. Likewise, it is clear that the sole purpose of these pseudo-study groups is to transfer power to members in furtherance of their own anti-American self- interests and ideologies under the guise of education.
It is abundantly clear that the principals of these prestigious corporations and the foundations they endow are far more concerned with empowering radical ethnic, race, and gender based groups than in furthering America’s interests through desperately needed traditional educational disciplines, e.g., math, science, literature, and history. The reason is quite simple: overtly promoting these radical groups is considered as being Politically Correct among their Multicultural or Progressive peers whereas supporting traditional education is passé.
Their actions are particularly appalling when considering that the radical group members and instructors benefiting from such academic grants have and never will make the slightest contribution towards enhancing America. To the contrary, they are proudly following in the footsteps of the founding Cultural Marxists whose goal was to destroy America’s culture, values, and traditions.
None of this should be surprising. The majority of people running the sponsoring corporations, foundations, and academia, as well as the educators are 1960’s Boomers who were spoon-fed a steady dose of Cultural Marxism hidden behind the label of Multiculturalism. As a result they are functioning as acolytes of the original founders of Cultural Marxism in propagating and implementing their toxic ideology.
